Dr. Joseph B. Schlenoff

Welcome to Chemistry & Biochemistry at Florida State. We are a versatile, top 50, Research 1 department, boasting state-of-the art people, facilities and attitudes. Our labs are teaming with researchers, from freshman to postdocs, learning their craft in both traditional fields, such as organic, bio, and physical chemistry, and in emerging areas, such as materials, nanotechnology and computational chemistry. Teams are mentored by renowned researchers, including Harry Kroto, 1996 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, and other such distinguished faculty. Our new 168,000 sq ft research building, housing world-class laboratories and meeting space, provides cutting-edge shared equipment to help students advance their ideas and understanding of science.
