Faculty members in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry launch the Microwave Chemistry Working Group website.
The effect of microwave radiation on chemical processes has been an active and collaborative effort ongoing in the FSU Chemistry Department. Professors Albert Stiegman, Gregory Dudley, Geoffrey Strouse, and Susan Latturner — all with active research into the microwave synthesis of organic and inorganic and molecules and materials — have teamed up to form the Microwave Chemistry Working Group. The group is multidisciplinary and open to investigators in different departments and institutions who are interested in understanding the unique role microwaves can play in chemical processes. To disseminate recent results and provide fundamental information about the interactions of microwaves with matter, the group has launched the Microwave Chemistry Working Group Web site, which can be accessed at: www.chem.fsu.edu/mcwg.
