Wentao Wang Wins the Ocean Optics Young Investigator Award


Wentao Wang, a grad student in Hedi Mattoussi’s group, was recently awarded the Ocean Optics Young Investigator Award at the SPIE WEST 2016 conference. The award is given to the best paper submitted at the conference by a researcher who currently is a graduate student or has completed their graduate work in the last five years. Wentao earned the award for his manuscript titled "Design of a Multi-Coordinating Polymer as a Platform for Functionalizing Metal, Metal Oxide and Semiconductor Nanocrystals.” His co-authors include Anshika Kapur (FSU grad student), Xin Ji (FSU / Ocean Optics) and Hedi Mattoussie. In addition to a cash prize for Wentao, this award also provides ~$2000 in equipment support to his research.
