Class Hours M 2:30-3:20 p.m. in 005 Mon, plus (at least) 6-8 hours per week in the research laboratory (flexibly scheduled times set in consultation with your research mentor).
Students are responsible for arranging their schedules to accommodate the necessary research time and for communicating regularly with their research mentor.
Co-requisite CHM 1051.
Course Objective: This course is designed to introduce students to research and problem solving in the laboratory. Honors general chemistry CHM 1050 students are admitted by application during the preceding fall semester. Lecture topics will include guidelines for preparing a “chalk” talk, oral (PowerPoint) presentation, and poster; however, the majority of the shared class time will be spent hearing from you about the research being carried out in the various labs.
Attendance… is required and will be recorded using the evaluation sheets.
