pH Meter

Part 1: Calibrating the pH Meter

  1. Using DI water thoroughly rinse the pH probe and then GENTLY blot it dry with a kimwipe.  Do not wipe the probe as this will build up static electricity.

  2. Place the probe in the pH 7 buffer.

  3. Press the MODE key until CALIBRATE is displayed above the main readout. The last buffer sequence used will be displayed.  Press the YES key to use this sequence or NO to select another sequence.  Press the YES key when you find the pH 7 and pH 4 sequence.

  4. Wait for READY to be displayed and then press the YES key to calibrate the 1st pH of 7.

  5. Remove the probe from the 1st buffer and rinse as before.

  6. Place the probe in the pH 4 buffer.

  7. Wait for READY to be displayed and then press the YES key to calibrate the 1st pH of 4.

  8. The slope will then be displayed and the meter will then automatically return to the measurement mode.  The display should read MEASURE when this happens.

Part 2: pH Measurements

  1. Rinse the probe with DI water and blot it GENTLY dry between each different solution.

  2. Place the probe in the solution to be measured.

  3. Wait until the readout says READY and record the pH.
