Postdoctoral

Nikolay Tsvetkov

Nikolay completed his M. S. in chemistry in 2002 with honors at the Higher Chemical College of the Russian Academy of Science in Moscow, Russia. He completed his Ph. D. in chemistry in 2006 at the A. N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds (Nesmeyanov Institute) in Moscow, Russia.

Thaís Faria Delgado

Thaís was originally born in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and moved to Sarasota, FL when she was 4 years old. She completed her B.Sc. in 2015 in the field of Biochemistry at Florida State University where she worked under Dr. Alabugin. Thaís's research interests include light induced radical cyclizations.

Christopher J. Evoniuk

Chris was born and raised in Portland, OR. He obtained a BA from the University of Oregon under the advisement of Dr. Darren W. Johnson and Dr. Michael Haley. Chris focuses on the design of new reactions for making expanded N-heterocycles.

Gabriel dos Passos Gomes

Gabriel received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under the supervision of Professor Pierre Mothè Esteves in 2013. He also spent a year at the University of Lisbon in an academic exchange researching graphene oxides with Professor Maria José Lourenço. In fall of 2014, he joined the Alabugin lab and was awarded the LASER Fellowship. He is interested in the interplay between structure and reactivity.

Audrey Hughes

Audrey completed undergrad at Rhodes College, Memphis, TN. She works on synthesis, structures and properties of functionalized graphene nanoribbons.

Rana K. Mohamed 

Rana moved from Alexandria, Egypt to the U.S. to pursue her undergraduate and graduate studies. She earned a BA in chemistry from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2011. Rana is designing new radical transformations for the synthesis of conjugated carbon-rich materials.

Edgar Gonzalez-Rodriguez 

Edgar earned his bachelor's degree in Chemical Pharmaceutical Biology from Universidad LaSalle in Mexico City. He is currently working on combining stereoelectronics, traceless directing groups, and dynamic covalent chemistry for the design of alkyne cascades towards carbon-rich molecules and materials.
