SYLLABUS

Polymers are everywhere. The proteins and DNA that are in your body are biopolymers. The rubber in the soles of your shoes is a polymer. The cellulose found in plant leaves is a polymer. But most importantly, the silly putty and slime you will make in this lab are both polymers.

The differences between these two polymers has to do with crosslinking. We will make both polymers in lab and test their physical properties in order to discover how crosslinking affects the physical characteristics of a polymer.
