SYLLABUS

When we think of poisons we generally think of compounds like strichnine or cyanide. But the definition of a poison is "any substance that causes injury or illness or death of a living organism". Under this definition of a poison, alcohol is a serious poison. In this lab we will demonstrate the deleterious effects of alcohol on tissue by "frying" an egg (mostly protein and fat) in different percentages of alcohol.
